The mind and body are not without one another. Attending to the latter creates a healthier milieu for psychological improvement through concurrent psychotherapy, which in turn enhances physical health. Each domain, from psychotherapy and psychedelic medicine to physical training and professional performance, can clash or harmonize with the others. Tuning each yields greater resilience, flexibility, and effectiveness, while unifying care within a single relationship allows you to be seen more coherently.

The assessment is an initial intake appointment to explore your goals, experience, and the root causes of your challenges, presenting you with a conceptualization of your situation that provides direction moving forward. The assessment also helps both parties learn whether partnering together would be a good fit. Depending on complexity, anywhere between a single and several appointments can also function as a consultation or second opinion regarding your particular circumstances.

This is the heart of Axim Medicine. A place to not only process the past and investigate your unconscious habits, but also craft the future through the evolution of your psyche, making you more fulfilled and effective in relationships, work, and life. Various modalities geared toward felt change rather than solely cognitive knowledge are interwoven in alignment with your goals to address the psychological framework that symptoms arise from.

Psychedelic medicine holds the potential to rapidly and durably relieve suffering as validated by modern academic research as well as thousands of years of human tradition.
Spiritual life, whether understood as daily prayer, holding a newborn, falling in love, or seeing stars deep in the desert, is an essential part of the human experience that psychedelics can deepen access to. They have the potential to visceralize knowledge imprisoned in the mind, helping people move from knowing to feeling, providing a kind of North Star experience.
We will discuss possible benefits and risks, frame the enterprise so as to lay a foundation for making meaning, and then process the journey. Perhaps most importantly, we will tend to the lessons learned, bringing them back to daily life.

How we live our days is how we live our lives. Develop a day-to-day that facilitates well-being. Sleep, diet, movement, time in nature, relationships, and meaning all affect one another and form the foundation of health. We will attend to each of these domains in a way that feels approachable and manageable, leveraging the inextricable relationships between behavior, physiology, and psychology, and thereby minimizing usage of medication.
From Alzheimer’s risk reduction to dreaming, sleep drives physical and emotional recovery, metabolism, cognition, and immunity, while also expressing the subconscious and is tightly correlated with mental health outcomes.
Food is foundational medicine, the literal building block of body, microbiome, and brain. The scientific literature continues to validate links between nutrition, metabolism, endocrinology, and mental health.
Movement empowers the self, from mitochondria to muscle, and builds your relationship with your body. Embodiment is one of the markers of mental health, and physicality can be a route to joy as well as confidence and independence throughout the lifespan.
Nature, particularly light, is an essential physiologic nutrient, driving core processes and improving outcomes across domains.
Beyond the biochemical, many of the above can represent community, isolation, control, guilt, comfort, sensuousness, or celebration.

More, less, faster, slower, different—why? Medications are much more than just a pill. They can symbolize stability, bygone hard times, control, clarity, dependence, or independence. Uncertain probabilities come with the territory and ambivalence is normal. Each medication, with its virtues and limitations, has a unique role for each person at any given time in life. Pharmaceutical-grade supplements may also be utilized when warranted. Together, we will seek the minimum effective dose in the context of your priorities.

I work frequently with tech founders and finance executives managing the pressures of responsibility, fears of failure, identity entanglement, and challenges of leadership, who often find personal evolution goes hand in hand with enhanced performance and decision-making.
Others come to me already in a good place but would like support in deepening a sense of meaning beyond success on paper, or clarifying values and goals during a time of change. This can mean transitioning from individual contributor to leader, navigating fundraising and board complexity, or finding direction post-exit.
We all carry forward constructs and habits from our past into current modes of operating. While these proclivities can drive early-stage success, they are classically the very same sources of weakness or collateral damage, and often go unnoticed. Understand your scripts of thinking and feeling through principles of psychology that bear broad relevance. Make the unconscious conscious. Executive coaching can help bridge the gap.

Human relations, intra- and interpersonal, are at play in nearly every part of life. In addition to psychiatric services, I apply the insights of neuroscience and psychology to domains beyond healthcare. I consult for businesses on a range of issues including team dynamics, hiring, and leadership. I also engage with research, design, and creation further afield.
